Enda McGahern is a Co Longford based Information Security Professional with 20 years experience in the IT industry. He is owner of McGahern Consulting Ltd who provide IT and Cyber Security services into Government departments and SMB's.
As well as a Bachelors Degree in Information Technology and Telecommunications from the University of Limerick, he holds multiple industry security certifications including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).
As a parent he saw the need to educate other parents, children and teachers in his locality on Internet Safety and Security. This was driven by the rapid development in mobile technology, social media sites and also by the increasing level of cyberbullying incidents.
Enda began to educate kids and parents in his area about Internet safety and became a member of the (ISC)2 Foundations Safe and Secure Online (SSO) program (Irish Chapter) presenting to almost 1000 students, parents and teachers in his area.
He also set up "The Safehouse" website to help deliver some educational content.
Enda is now delivering the cyber safety sessions for a leading Irish charity called CyberSafeKids in Co Longford and surrounding counties. Primary school teachers, parents associations or youth groups should get in touch at info@cybersafekids.org immediately to secure a booking. Enda is currently Garda vetted and is also a GAA Youth Coach.
